The Lighthouse Point Park Carousel is a 4 row, Murphy-Carmel/Looff built in 1911. It has the original Stinson-Wurl band organ, quite gorgeous itself, with a figure (is it George Washington?) that rotates his head and directs with his baton. There are 56 jumpers, 13 standers, one camel and two dragon chariots. The carousel's original location is unknown but it has been here since 1916. In the late 1960s, the carousel was in bad shape and was dismantled and put in storage. It was restored and reinstalled in the 1980s. For more, see these websites: 1 and 2.
