St. Louis Carousel
Chesterfield, MO

The St. Louis Carousel was built in 1920 by the Dentzel Company. It was originally installed in Forest Park Highlands amusement park in St. Louis in 1929. The amusement park was destroyed by fire in 1963 but the carousel was unharmed. The carousel operated in Sylvan Springs County Park from 1965-1979. It was then restored and relocated to its present location in Faust Park in 1987. The carousel features 46 jumping horses, 16 standing horses, four reindeer, and two chariots. There are also two incredible organs (the one with the figures is a Stinson). For more, see these websites: 1, 2, and 3.
