This Golden Bear is installed at the foot of the Klamath River Bridge. There are four of these bears, two at each end of the bridge. I believe they have been here since at least the 1930s. The California Golden Bear is now extinct though it still appears on the state's flag.
This Grizzly Bear and Salmon statue has been on the roof of Ken's Sporting Goods since the late 1980s. The fiberglass statue is about 16 1/2' tall. Ken calls him "Griz". This store caters mostly to the hunting and fishing crowd but also sells liquor. For more, see this website. |

The Teddy Bear statue in Luxemburg stands in front of Deb's Daycare.
The Teddy Bear statue in Kansas City is displayed at the American Jazz Museum. It was most likely part of a 2002 "March of the Teddy Bears" art project when 150 statues were displayed around the city. The Downington Bear sculpture is located in front of Firecreek Restaurant & Bar. The bear is the University of Central Arkansas's mascot. This concrete bear is installed at Estes Stadium. He was built around 1950. I believe this carved wooden bear is from the late 1990s. He is installed in a building next to the stadium. For more, see this website. |

This carved wooden Bear at Wigwam Willie's has mechanical paws with guns that move up and down.
The Bear in Owosso stands next to the Owosso Carpet Center. The statue was installed by the carpet store that was here previously. It is cemented in place to prevent it from being stolen for pranks. The bear was wearing an apron and chef's hat for Father's Day when this photo was taken in 2011. The store dresses him in different outfits throughout the year. In 2005, a naming contest was held. The bear was named Oliver after James Oliver Curwood, a famous author from Owosso. This type of bear statue is usually found at mini golf courses. Martin, a concrete grizzly bear statue, was created by T.J. Neil in 1975. Neil was a local artist that produced many statues for mini golf courses and other businesses. This nine foot tall statue is located in front of the ZooQuarium. |
