These five chickens appear to have been made from the same mold which leads me to wonder if there was a former broasted chicken restaurant chain that featured these guys. I have not seen this style outside of Michigan.
The Levering Chicken has been painted red, white and blue since 2009. He is located at the Levering Cafe. The Byron Center Chicken is installed in the parking lot of Jake's Bar & Grill at the Byron Center Hotel. Jake's is famous for its chicken dinners. [first photo thanks Clayton Lubbers] The Prudenville Chicken stands in front of the Lake Break restaurant. The St. Louis Chicken is located in front of The Original Tony's Giant Steak Sandwich which opened in 1946. The statue was repainted around 2007. The Honor Chicken stands in front of the Cherry Bowl Drive-in. The Greenbush Chicken is draped with Christmas tree lights. He stands in front of the Red Rooster Restaurant. The Clawson Chicken is on the roof of Faym-Us Chicken. They opened in 1959 and I assume the chicken is from around the same time. |

The Three Chefs featured a "Broaster Chicken" on its roof while the Mister Chicken features one atop their sign. This statue must have been used by a chain affiliated with Broaster Foods. I assume these hat-wearing rooster statues came first and inspired the other types (see below). The Three Chefs restaurant has been demolished and replaced with a Wendy's. The whereabouts of the rooster is unknown. [photo thanks Mark Comstock]
The Cecil's Cafe Broaster Chicken is installed on a pole next to the restaurant. Mister Chicken was established in 1961. This statue is installed on top of the restaurant's sign. Gene's Restaurant's chicken is located on the roof. |

Bridges Restaurant features this rooftop Broaster Chicken. It wasn't clear if this place was still open when this photo was taken in 2010.
The broaster chicken at Red Rooster Rental has been here since at least 2007. Fast Eddie's Fried Chicken's chicken is installed on a pole next to the restaurant. The Dari-y Drive-Inn chicken is protected behind fencing. He has been nicknamed Ronnie Rooster. The Redwood Coast Cellular chicken is dressed up like Uncle Sam. This statue is slightly different from the others shown here and was probably built later. |

The Atlanta Rooster stands in front of the Tropical Flavor Restaurant.
The Pigeon Forge Rooster stood outside the Tennessee Oak Furniture store. They called him the "Big C" for Big Chicken. In the mid-1970s, the chicken/rooster stood in front of the Three Bears Gift Shop. The City of Pigeon Forge sued for illegal signage but the the store won (the judge ruling the rooster was not a sign). He was put in storage around 1988 and moved to this site in 2004. I believe that this furniture store is gone and so is the rooster. The East Peoria Rooster stands in front of Carl's Bakery & Restaurant. He appears to have been recently restored. For more, see this website. The Eau Claire Rooster was installed on the roof of Ron's Family Restaurant when this photo was taken in 2007. By 2010, the restaurant had a new name and the rooster was gone. |

The Rooster Run Rooster stands in front of the Rooster Run General Store. He sports a bib that says "Hello, my name is Ozzy Frank".
The Hudson Rooster is located at Borg Poultry Farm. It's been reported that this statue is gone. Does anyone know for sure? The Spencer Rooster is installed at the Owen County Fairgrounds. It was originally located at a restaurant in town which closed. The Osseo Rooster is located in front of Moe's Diner where there is also a giant steer on top of their sign. |

The Potterville Rooster advertises for Joe's Gizzard City.
The Birnamwood Rooster stands on top of a sign for Chet & Emil's Restaurant. Naturally, they serve broasted chicken. The Barrel Drive-in rooster was once installed on a trailer and used in local parades. This drive-in opened in 1958 but I don't know how long the rooster has been here. |

The Warren Rooster is located at a Marathon gas station.
The rooster at Ron's Roost restaurant is installed on the roof. The Logansport Rooster stands in front of Next Day Container. The Chanticleer Cottage antique store rooster was probably top-hatted at one time. "Aunt Bee's Restaurant" was here before but I don't know if they were the original occupants or how long the rooster has been here. As of 2006, the rooster and building had been freshly painted white and a new business was moving in. The rooster had been quite colorful before. For more, see this website. |

This Giant Chicken in Marinette is located at a BP gas station. It was previously installed at the Ellis Big Chicken Restaurant which is gone now. For more, see this website.
This Giant Chicken in Waukesha stands in front of a farm west of town. This Giant Chicken in Pardeeville is installed on the roof of the Big Chicken Resale Shop. It is only about five feet tall. I have not seen this smaller size before. A tag identifies the manufacturer of this statue as Creative Display, an early fiberglass statue producer. |
