The Rooster and Turkey stood at opposite ends of the parking lot of 4-State Poultry Supply. These photos were taken in 2010. The business had closed and the statues were gone by 2012.

The Turkey statue in Pipe is mounted on a trailer in front of a farm building.

Turkey
Cicero, NY
The Turkey in Ames was made of stainless steel by Larry Pearson. The Sculpture was installed in 2012 in front of the Iowa Turkey Federation office. For more, see this website.

The Turkey in Cicero, aka "Bronco Tom Turkey", rides a rearing horse. The statue was created by Sharon BuMann for the "Horses On Parade" public art project in 2002. The statue was then known as "All American Tom" because of the flag and red, white and blue color scheme. The statue was installed in front of the former Plainville Farms restaurant in Cicero. It was moved to the restaurant's Camillus, NY location for a few years before returning here. This restaurant closed around 2010 just before this photo was taken. I don't know what will happen with this statue.

World's Largest Turkey
Frazee, MN
Giant Turkey
Frazee, MN
The World's Largest Turkey is 22 feet tall. The original "Big Tom" was 16 feet tall and built in 1986. It was created by Shell Scott using metal, cement, fiberglass, cardboard and insulation. The statue required frequent repairs and the town decided to build another one. In 1998, while removing the original turkey with a cutting torch, it caught fire and was completely destroyed. This replacement statue was produced by DWO Fiberglass Co. and installed in 1998. It is made of fiberglass and is reinforced with steel. For more, see these websites: 1, 2, and 3.

This smaller, white Giant Turkey is located downtown. It may have been installed before the one from 1986.

This Wild Turkey statue is installed on a trailer in front of Bob's Auto Body. Boscobel is the Wild Turking Hunting Capital of Wisconsin.

Giant Chicken
Marysville, OH
These detailed Winlock Chickens are scattered around this small town. I believe they were installed in 2007. Winlock was once considered the Egg Capital of the World and is also home to a Giant Egg statue. For more, see these websites: 1 and 2.

This Tifton Chicken stands in front of the Wishbone Fried Chicken restaurant.

This Marysville Chicken is installed in front of Crazy Scotty's Building Supplies.

Henny Penny
Carry Out
McHenry, IL
Wisdom's Cafe
Tumacacori-Carmen, AZ
Giant Chicken
Austin, TX
The Henny Penny Carry Out restaurant features this giant chicken on the roof.

Wisdom's Cafe has two chickens installed in front of their restaurant. One is outfitted with antlers. These statues are from the same mold as the Henny Penny statue. There is another example of these statues in Preston, IA. There was another in Kalona, IA.

The Austin Chicken was produced by Faith Schexnayder of Flat Fork Studios. The chicken is made of foam and covered with fiberglass. The sculpture has been restored twice. Faith created "Ethel", a mother hen, around 1998. She wanted the chicken to have a "don't mess with my chicks" look for the yard in which her young daughter plays. For more, see this website. [photo thanks Faith Schexnayder]

Giant Chicken
Bothell, WA
Squawk N Skoot
El Reno, OK
The Bothell Chicken is installed in front of the Country Village Shopping Center. She is about 15 feet tall and stands over a giant egg. She was built by Rod Loveless in 2005 from styrofoam blocks. The blocks had been packing materials from furniture and such when the business opened. Loveless glued them together, carved them into the chicken shape, and covered the sculpture with fiberglass. For more, see this website.

The Squawk N Skoot restaurant features this giant chicken on the side of the building.

Giant Chicken
Ardmore, TN
The Ardmore Chicken stands in front of the Shady Lawn Truck Stop. He was restored around 2006. He holds a knife under one wing and once held a fork under the other. He appears to have been repainted recently. For more, see this website.

Chicken Coop
Tweed, ON
The Chicken Coop started out as Drain Poulty, an egg farm. It is now mainly a gift and clothing store. For more, see this website.

Giant Rooster
Waukesha, WI
Giant Rooster
Brundidge, AL
The wood-carved Rooster in Waukesha is located at Andrea's Red Rooster restaurant and bar.

The Rooster in Brundidge was created from car bumpers by Larry Godwin. This sculpture stands in front of his ArtWurks gallery. His Giant Bull sculpture is located just a little north of here. For more, see his website.

Roscoe the Rooster
Takoma Park, MD
Bantam Chef
Walhalla, SC
Giant Chicken
Rossville, GA
Giant Chicken
Tampa, FL
Roscoe the Rooster is a life-sized tribute to a local pet rooster. For more, see these websites: 1, 2, 3, and 4.

This Bantam Chef restaurant features this rooster sculpture on the roof. It was designed and built by Robert and Bruce Gentry. Bantam Chef hamburger stands were part of a Southern chain.

The Rossville Chicken is on top of the canopy roof of Happy Motors (a former gas station). Unfortunately, the angle of the sun did not allow me to photograph him all that well. He is really bright yellow and probably about 10 feet tall.

The Tampa Chicken is not a statue at all but I can't resist including him. He waved to traffic but seemed to have no relationship to the business directly behind him (a Domino's Pizza, a Chinese restaurant, and a video store).
