Standard Cleaners & Dyers was vacant in 2003 when this photo was taken. The building was demolished sometime after 2006. It featured a curved entrance and incised Art Deco lettering.
The Anchor restaurant and bar opened in the 1940s. It features a curved window and a vitrolite façade. The neon sign is lit at night. For more, see this website The Lorraine Building appears to be from the 1930s. |

| The Dixwell Playhouse and former drug store were supposedly built in 1920. That sounds early - my guess would be 1930s. The Playhouse was used as a movie theatre and later a bowling alley. For more, see this website. |

| The French Italian Importing Company is located about ten blocks north of the Dixwell Playhouse. The similar styles look like the buildings were probably designed by the same architect and built around the same time. |
