Diners

PENNSYLVANIA (page 3)

Lee's Diner
York, PA

Lee's Diner is a Mountain View (#301) from 1953. The diner was completely restored in 2003. They have since replaced the old sign with a new one. As of 2008, I understand that this diner might be for sale. For more, see this website.

Chung Sing Restaurant
Ardmore, PA

The Chung Sing Restaurant occupies a 1952 Fodero that was once known as Dean's Diner. I don't know how long Chung Sing has been there or when the diner's interior was remodeled and a tile roof added. In 2001, the restaurant/diner was going to be demolished. Then, it was decided it would be saved and sent to the American Diner Museum's "holding pen" in RI. However, as of 2007, it's still here, in great shape, and apparently doing well. For more, see this website.

Dean's Diner
Blairsville, PA

Dean's Diner is a 1953 Fodero. At the end of 2007, it was put up for sale. For more, see this website.

Fezz's Community Diner

Fezz's Community Diner is a Silk City from 1954. The diner was originally in Bethlehem, PA. For more, see this website.

Sally's Diner
Erie, PA

Sally's Diner is a Mountain View (#522) from 1957. It was previously in Pittsburgh. This diner, as well as Sara's Restaurant, the adjacent building on the lot, features a 1950s theme. For more, see their website.

Jennie's Diner
Ronks, PA

Jennie's Diner is a Silk City from 1959.

Keri's Prospect Diner
Columbia, PA

Keri's Prospect Diner is a Kullman from the 1950s. In 2007, the building was vacant.

Miss Oxford Diner
Oxford, PA

The Miss Oxford Diner is a Silk City (#5465), built in 1954. It replaced a 1940s Mountain View at the same location. It closed in 1986, but was restored and reopened in 1994. For more, see these websites: 1 and 2.

Garfield Diner
Pottsville, PA

The Garfield Diner is a 1954 Kullman. It opened here as the Pottsville Diner. When I was here in 2006, it was closed with signs announcing it was about to reopen as "John's #2". Sorry about the interior photo - it was shot through dirty plexiglass.

Daddypops Diner
Hatboro, PA

Daddypops Diner is a Mountain View (#356) from 1953. It was originally known as the Hatboro Diner.

Ingleside Diner [moved]
Thorndale, PA

The Ingleside Diner, originally Zinn's Diner, is a 1956 Fodero. This large L-shaped diner arrived in seven pre-built sections. It was owned by Christian Zinn who had two other diners already in the area (Zinn's Diner and the Town Diner). In 1966, this diner was sold and renamed the Ingleside. The downstairs banquet room was still called the "Zinn Room". The diner sat 99 (83 in booths/tables, 16 at stools). The Ingleside closed in late 2001 and was sold in January 2003. A Wawa convenience store took its place in Thorndale. This diner was supposedly moved to St. Louis, MO though I have not heard anything about it. Does anyone know where it is now? For more, see this website.

former Pushnik's Diner
Lebanon, PA

Pushnik's Diner was the original occupant of this 1960 Fodero. It later became "D'Alexander's" and featured rock bands on weekends. By 2003 (top photo), it was closed and for sale. In 2007, it reopened as the "American Classic Restaurant" (bottom row of photos). However, that venture only lasted a few months and the diner is up for sale again.

Mel's Diner
Lebanon, PA

Mel's Diner is an O'Mahony from 1955. This was previously the Lincoln Diner.
