Harold's Auto Center
Spring Hill, FL
Harold's Auto Center was built as a Sinclair gas station in 1964. The dinosaur is 110 feet long, 30 feet wide, 34 feet high to its back, and 48 feet to top of its head. It has three arched service bays in the dinosaur's side. The office and green-tile bathroom are under the neck. The gas pumps were removed long ago. For more, see this website.

pink dinosaur
Spring Hill, FL
The pink dinosaur stands in front of Elio's Barber Shop. It was built in 1962 for the Foxbower Wildlife Museum which stood behind it. Restored in 1999, the dinosaur is 22 feet tall and 58 feet long. It is a cross between a brontosaurus and a stegosaurus. For more, see this website.

abandoned dinosaur
Brooksville, FL
This abandoned dinosaur project has been here since at least the 1970s. Evidently, the artist died before the statue was completed. There were smaller dinosaur statues here as well. One source suggested that this statue might be what's left of "Rain Forest", a 1960s attraction with cement dinosaurs. However, that place was in Sumterville which is more than 30 miles away.

Goony Golf Dinosaur
St. Petersburg, FL
The St. Petersburg Goony Golf Dinosaur still stands on a bit of green although the mini golf course is long gone. A U-Haul agency has sprung up next to him. He was restored around 2002. These photos are from 2009. Since then, the dinosaur has been painted green by the new business that has moved in, Florida Brick & Pavers. For more, see this website.

For more about Goony Golf courses, see this page.

Goony Golf Dinosaur
Jacksonville, FL
Dinosaur [gone]
Jacksonville, FL
The Jacksonville Goony Golf Dinosaur was declared a landmark and restored in 2007. A strip mall stands where the mini golf course used to be. For more, see these websites: 1, 2, 3, and 4.

The Jacksonville dinosaur, shown on the right above, stood around the corner from what was Dinosaur Electric. When these photos were taken in 2005, the store was vacant and the dinosaur's fate was uncertain. He may have been part of a Goony Golf course although his proportions seem off. I'm told he was brought here when a course was updated around the mid-1990s. Around 2000, he was "refurbished" and painted green (Goony's dinos were usually orange). In 2006, he was demolished.

Dinosaur
Fort Walton Beach, FL
This Dinosaur stands next to the Boat Marina & Boat Yard. Does anyone know his history?

Recyclosaurus
Tampa, FL
The Recyclosaurus is installed in front of MOSI (the Museum of Science & Industry). The wire and orange mesh statue is filled with recyclable cans and plastic milk cartons. I believe it was built around 2006.
