| Johnie's Broiler (now Bob's Big Boy) Downey, CA |

| Johnie's Broiler was originally known as Harvey's Broiler and opened in 1958. It was renamed Johnie's Broiler in 1966. The sign was updated at that time and the "Fat Boy" icon, modeled after the Bob's Big Boy character, was added. The restaurant closed in 2001 and a used car lot took over the property in 2002. Despite historic status, the restaurant was partially demolished in 2007. After these photos were taken in 2008, Bob's Big Boy purchased the property and began rebuilding the restaurant. | Zucky's Restaurant opened in 1954 and closed in 1993. The building sat empty until 2008 when it reopened as a bank. The rockwork and the sign tower were left intact although the tower itself was originally painted brown not green. For more, see these websites: 1 and 2. |

| Shaker's Restaurant was previously named the Salt Shaker. Originally, it was a Preble's Restaurant which were designed by Armet & Davis. I believe there were five in the chain. Another location in Alhambra, CA is now known as the Diner on Main. For more, see this website. |

| I believe this Jim's Burgers is or was part of the Jim's Burgers chain which has about 18 locations in the Los Angeles area at this point.
