| The Sandy's Hamburgers chain was established in Peoria, IL in 1958. By 1968, the company had 100 locations. In 1972, there were 240 locations when the company merged with Hardees. By 1973, 90 percent of the Sandy's locations had changed over to the Hardees name. The signs and buildings were changed as well. For more, see this website. |

This former Sandy's Hamburgers sign is the last one known to exist. It was originally located in Marquette, MI. When Sandy's closed in 1973, the sign was moved here and adapted for the C&P Lounge. Only the message board and the topper with the dancing girl were saved. At some point the girl's plaid outfit was painted brown. The building now houses Pasquali's Pizza & Pub and the sign remains. | This Sandy's Hamburgers headquarters was built in 1968. Kewanee was the hometown of the founders of the chain. When Hardees took over the chain, they continued using this building as their headquarters until 1978. The building is now owned by the Open Arms Community Church.
