| Stewarts Original Hot Dogs opened in 1932, selling just root beer and popcorn. It added hot dogs and chili in 1933. This stand was never a Stewart's Root Beer (described below). | Stewart's Root Beer has more than 60 locations (38 of them in NJ, the others in MD, KY, OH, WV, and PA). They are planning on expanding to FL. Their first drive-in was built in 1924 in Mansfield, OH. That location featured car hops and served only root beer and popcorn. In 1989, Stewart's began bottling its root beer.
