The Dole Water Tower held 100,000 gallons and was made of tin. It was built in 1928 as a fire control system at the head offices of the Dole Pineapple Corporation in Honolulu. Unfortunately, it had severe rust problems and was disassembled in 1993. It was 195' tall and 25' wide and was one of the best-known landmarks in downtown Honolulu. A simulated shadow was painted onto the adjacent building as a reminder of the tower. For more, see these websites: 1 and 2.

The Lake Placid Pineapple is installed on top of a former produce stand sign. The business below it now is Shonda's Souvenirs which appeared closed in 2009.

The fruit has since been removed as the vehicle is used as a daily driver and for other events. For more, see 1 and 2.
