Peck's Farm Market has two big produce stands just down the road from each other. They also sell other foods and gifts, and feature a petting zoo, horse drawn wagon rides, and a children's play area. Peck's Farm Market was established in 1966. I don't know how long these giant food statues have been here. Peck's Farm East also has a pumpkin and a watermelon. They are mounted on poles at Altenburg's Country Gardens. They are brought down for local parades and towed by a tractor (note the wheels). This farm has been here since 1964. For more, see their website.

Field of Corn Dublin, OH |
The Field of Corn was created in 1994 by Malcolm Cochran. The 109 ears of corn are made of concrete and bronze. The ears are about 6' tall and arranged in even rows. The site was used as a cornfield from 1935-1963 and became a park when it was donated to the city. This installation is a reminder of the town's heritage (Dublin is now a rapidly developing suburb). For more, see these websites: 1 and 2.

Giant Ear of Corn Coon Rapids, IA |

This Giant Ear of Corn is part of the Garst Seed Company sign. The corn supposedly rotates but it wasn't when I was there in 2006. Garst was bought out by Syngenta in 2005 but the town wants to keep the sign. The wording will probably be changed but the corn will stay. For more, see these websites: 1 and 2.
