This former Eutaw station is now used as a thrift store.

| Snow Elephant Building Roanoke, AL |

| This Snow Elephant Building has been here since at least the 1960s but was probably built much earlier. I'm told that it was originally a gas station with a lighthouse theme. The rocky island part, now painted white, is what remains. Sometime after the lightouse was removed from the top of the structure, an eye was painted on the building since the archway somewhat resembles a trunk. In recent years, the building has been used as a convenience store and produce stand but it appears to be vacant now. [photo thanks Tim Ross] |
