| This former B/A station was built around 1955. B/A, aka British American Oil, was founded in 1906. In addition to this nicely restored station, there are vintage B/A signs and other items on display. At one time, this building was used by Grist Mill Auctions but there doesn't appear to be a business operating there now. For more, see these websites: 1 and 2. |

| This castle-style station was built in the late 1930s for the Joy Oil Co. There were at least 15 other locations that looked like this one but this is the only one left. This former station was deteriorating and nearly demolished before being moved across Lake Shore Blvd. in 2007. The station is actually two separate structures. The turreted building served as the office while the larger building was used for service bays. The buildings will be restored and converted into a snack bar and information center. For more, see these websites: 1, 2, 3, and 4. |

This Texaco station was built in 1929. It was known as the West Side Service Station until 1943 when it became the Little Chief Service Station. In 2002, the building was converted for use as a police station. This same design was used in the U.S. Another example can be found in Canfield, OH. [photo thanks Elissa H.]
This Canadian Tire station appears to be from the 1960s or 1970s. Does anyone know of other locations in this style that are still around? For more, see these websites: 1 and 2. |
