Dunkle's Gulf Station Bedford, PA |
Dunkle's Gulf was built in 1933. The building is covered with polychrome tile. This was Gulf's showplace between Pittsburgh and Philadelphia on the Lincoln Highway. This station still pumps gas and performs repairs. There was another Gulf station just like this one in Neptune, NJ.

These former Gulf stations were built in the mid-1930s.

This former station now houses Crouse Used Cars. The round office portion of the building was typical of the 1940s. The painted green stripes suggest Texaco but I don't know if that was the original brand sold here. There may have been porcelain enamel panels on this building. Does anyone know the history of this place?
