| The Rumford Man was previously at Puiia's Home Center (now closed). In 2002, he was donated to the town, restored, axe recreated, and moved to the Visitors' Info Center (just across the street). |

The Big Boyz Man obviously held something in his hands at one time. A postcard of Tony's Pushcart (location unknown) shows an identical-looking man holding a wheelbarrow type structure around a small foodstand. I'd love to know if this was a chain at one time or about other men that look like this.
I'm not sure who the Big Boyz Man is meant to represent. His hat (which I'm told was originally blue and white, vertically striped) seems Civil War era, his rolled-up sleeves and apron suggest some sort of laborer, then there's his sailor tattoo... anybody have any ideas? He was moved here in 1996 when he was purchased from an antiques/junk dealer in NH. Big Boyz seems to have switched over from a Harley Davidson shop to restoring antique cars. |
