| The Tunica Big John stands at a seasonal fireworks lot at the TN/MS border just south of Memphis. Tunica offers gambling and is evidently perceived by many Memphians as Sin City (hence the banner that this Big John holds). By 2007 [bottom photos], his sign had been changed. Big Johns were once used by a grocery store chain and the outstretched arms held bags of groceries. For more examples of them, see this page. |
