| Harvey the Giant Rabbit is 27' tall and stands in front of Harvey Marine, a marine supply business. The body came from a mass-produced, giant fiberglass Texaco gas station attendant statue. In 1962, the statue had been brought into the shop for repairs and never picked up. The store's owner decided to turn the statue into a store mascot. He had the human head replaced with a rabbit's to transform him into Harvey (named after the rabbit in "Harvey", a Jimmy Stewart movie from 1950). For more, see these websites: 1, 2, and 3.
