Fayette Tire Co. (now Import Export Tire Company)
Uniontown, PA
Fayette Tire opened in 1962 and I assume they bought their Muffler Man around that time. He was painted as a Pittsburgh Steeler in the 1970s and 1980s. The statue got a glossy paint makeover around 2003 (the first two photos are from 2002, the second two are from 2004). In 2004, Fayette Tire closed. By 2006, Import Export Tire Company had moved into the building. The statue was restored again in 2007. The bottom photos are from 2007 and 2010.

Muffler Man
Greensburg, PA

2012:
This Muffler Man was originally located at Myers Tire Supply in Pittsburgh. When the statue was moved to Greensburg in 1970, the Westmoreland Tire Co. transformed him into the football player, Jack Lamber #58. The statue's beard was painted over to look like skin. Later, the statue was repainted as other Pittsburgh Steelers, lastly, as #8 Tommy Maddox. In 2007, Lug Nuts moved into the building and restored the statue (two photos above middle). His helmet was removed, his beard was painted black and his skin was given a darker complexion. Since 2008, the statue's head has been missing.

Scottyland Campground
Rockwood, PA
2004:
2012:
The Scottyland Campground Muffler Man has been here since at least 1967. He has appeared different over the years: as a cowboy, an Army soldier, and a Scotsman. He has been an Uncle Sam since at least 2003. The statue was repainted sometime between 2004 and 2012. He has a much darker complexion now.

Cowboy Muffler Man
Kittanning, PA
This Cowboy Muffler Man is one of the rarer bowtie-wearing types. The statue, known as "Sam", has stood in front of the Cadet Restaurant since 1962. In 1990, the statue was hit by a car and suffered a broken leg. He laid on his back until 2002 when he was restored and put on top of cement blocks. The statue has held a hamburger since at least 1990 and may have always had it. For more, see their website.
