Castle Car Wash
Chicago, IL
The Castle Car Wash was built in 1925 as the John J. Murphy Filling Station. It was a Standard Oil station until at least 1970 and then became a garage/car wash. The building has been mostly vacant since the early 1980s. The County seized the property in 1995 for unpaid taxes. The crenellation on top of the tower was removed. In 2009 (bottom row of photos), the building was being restored for use as a restaurant. The planned name was "Chicken Castle". However, as of 2011, the building was still vacant. For more, see these websites: 1 and 2.

This Castle Car Wash is apparently a much more recent construction.

Castle Car Wash

This Castle Car Wash was built in 1997. It was not related to the one above in Long Beach. These photos are from 2010. The business was closed in 2011 and the fate of this building is unknown.

The Tire King building was originally a gas station. In the 1960s, Tire King took over. They expanded the office section at the right, keeping the same castle-like roofline.

Round Table Sports Bar & Lounge
Miami, FL
Beverage Castle
Tampa, FL
The Round Table Sports Bar & Lounge appears to be a castle-style adaptation of a 1940s building. Does anyone know the history of this building?

This Beverage Castle is part of a former, apparently regional chain with castle-style buildings. This one appeared vacant in 2009. For more, see these websites: 1, 2, 3, and 4.

The Garage Sale Store previously housed Castle Storage.

Seacoast Mini Storage
