| The Alpine Inn was built in 1966 and features a snow-topped office building. The similarity between this building and the Clearman's North Woods Inns below make me wonder if this wasn't one of their restaurants at one time or at least built by the same developer. For more, see this website. |

Polar Island is part of the Wintergreen Resort & Conference Center. The snow-capped mountain features a 100' plunge into the pool. The ice theme continues to the resort's indoor pool. For more, see their website.
The Los Hermanos Produce and Meat Market building has a fascinating design. I don't know if the original exposed interior concept was meant to be ice-like or cave-like. Does anyone know more about this building? |

The proximity and style of the Hock Your Rocks pawn shop building leads me to believe that it was probably built by the same person and at the same time as Grandpa's Steakhouse described above. Does anyone know more about this building?
These fake rocks are probably from the 1960s. I believe the structure was used as a bar at one time. In 2009, it was apparently being protected behind chain link fencing while new skyscraper-esque hotels/condos were going up around it. |

| Alvin's Island has a chain of stores selling souvenirs, beachwear and other related items. This is their first store. This cave-like building was originally the home of "Jungle Land" whicih was built in 1966. There are still remnants of this animal attraction, including live alligators, a waterfall, the fake volcano, and "Journey to the Center of the Earth" pathways. Jungle Land closed in the late 1970s. Alvin's took over in 1981 and named the place "Alvin's Magic Mountain Mall". For more, see these websites: 1, 2, and 3. |

| The Rainforest Car Wash has been here since at least 2004. It features Mayan ruins, swinging monkeys, animatronic elephants, with thunder and animal sound effects. A giant head moves his eyes from right to left and bellows things like "watch out for the gorillas!" followed by an evil laugh. For more, see these websites: 1 and 2. |
