The Louisville Baseball Bat is 120 feet tall. It was built in 1995 and stands in front of the Louisville Slugger Museum and Factory. It was modeled after Babe Ruth's bat. Inside, there is a shop where you can have your own customized bat made.
This Giant Baseball Glove is actually a limestone bench inside the Louisville Slugger Museum and Factory. It is 10 feet long and was built in 1998. For more, see these websites: 1, 2, 3, and 4. This Giant Baseball has been painted red since 2008. The business there now is Quonset Hut Military Surplus. I suspect there was a sporting goods place here before. The pole that the baseball is installed on may have held a gas station sign originally. Does anyone know more about this baseball? For more, see this website. |
