Tee Time [gone]
Ocean City, NJ
Goblin Golf [gone]
Ocean City, NJ
There were six mini golf courses on the Ocean City Boardwalk when I first photographed them around 2001 (pre-digital camera, sorry about the quality!). Most of the old ones are gone now.

Tee Time was old and crude (in a good way!). I wonder what's become of the dinosaur.

Goblin Golf had a horror theme with mummies (one in a glass case that it claimed to be real), skeletons, rats, and movie monsters. It also had some mechanical obstacles with moving planks.

There was another old course, Junk Yard Golf, that was installed on a rooftop. I'm not sure if it's still there.

Playland's Golden Galleon Pirate's Golf
Ocean City, NJ
Congo Falls Adventure Golf
Ocean City, NJ
Playland's Golden Galleon Pirate's Golf was previously known as "Pirate Golf". There are two pirate-themed courses which appear to be old and updated. The Muffler Man Pirate has been here awhile while the giant Octopus is a new addition. For more, see their website.

Congo Falls Adventure Golf is a new mini golf place. I'm not sure which came first: the giant Octopus or the giant Gorilla. Congo Falls may have replaced one of the older courses - unfortunately I did not keep track of where they were exactly. This place offers three courses: the Congo Queen, Solomon's Mine, and the Lost City. They are the rocks and waterfalls type with some other interesting details. For more, see their website.

Playland's Seaport Village Golf
Ocean City, NJ
Gillian's Island
Ocean City, NJ
Playland's Seaport Village Golf is another new 19-hole course with a seaport theme and a replica of the shipwrecked "Sindia". For more, see their website.

Gillian's Island is a fairy recent Boardwalk addition. This is another rocks, caves and waterfalls type course. For more, see their website.

Goofy Golf
Ocean City, NJ
Goofy Golf still has some classic figures and an old-time feel. I believe this is the oldest remaining course on the Boardwalk. The ice cream cone (first photo) is gone now.

Wacky Golf
Seaside Heights, NJ
The Wacky Golf course is on a rooftop above the Boardwalk.

Bill Burr's Flamingo Golf
Ship Bottom, NJ
Bill Burr's Flamingo Golf is a wonderful old course that's fastidiously maintained. It was built in the late 1950s. They feature mini golf tournaments.

Barnacle Bill's Amusements
Ortley Beach, NJ
Barnacle Bill's Amusements features a very nice old course that opened in 1964. Although the whale and ice mountain appear old, they are actually more recent additions. They have a Muffler Man which is taken down at the end of the season. In addition to the mini golf, there is also a snack bar and games arcade. For more, see their website.

Weber's Root Beer
Brooklawn, NJ
Weber's Root Beer is mostly known for its drive-in stand. But out back are two fantastic courses. The course to the south was built in the 1950s and is very much original. The north course was built in the 1990s in the same style. Unfortunately, I was there right after a torrential rainstorm and the photos don't do the place justice.

Pine Creek Golf
West Amwell, NJ
Pine Creek Golf is awesome! It opened in 1993 at a cost of $2 million. It is the work of Oscar Patters who designed the Village Greens courses in PA. The facility is spread over 28 acres with incredible landscaping and challenging holes. It has great water traps, long holes with dips and slopes, practice greens, as well as plenty of huge pine trees, naturalistic streams, ponds and swans. There is also a nice big clubhouse to grab some air conditioning and snacks. There are two 18-hole courses - each taking about an hour to play. For more, see these websites: 1, 2, and 3.
