Temple Sinai
Rochester, NY
The Temple Sinai was built in 1967, designed by Rochester architect James Johnson. The building is meant to resemble a tent with the concrete walls poured on-site. In front of the glass wall outside are two ivy-covered tablets, symbolizing the Ten Commandments. The building with the sloped entrance is the religious school which I believe was built at the same time. For more, see their website.

Temple Beth Zion
Buffalo, NY
Temple Beth Zion was designed by Max Abramovitz (best known for the United Nations Building and Lincoln Center in NYC) and built between 1964-1967. The limestone, scalloped-shaped building features 10 sides representing the Ten Commandments. The ceiling is 62' tall with no internal columns. The altar features 32' tall Commandment Tablets and a stained glass window designed by Ben Shahn. The organ has 4,000 pipes and the interior is lit from above by large curved windows.
