The 600 Building was built in 1962.

Bay Building
Corpus Christi, TX
The Bay Building houses offices and a BBVA Compass Bank branch. My guess is that it was built in the 1970s.

FamilyNet Broadcast Center
Fort Worth, TX
The FamilyNet Broadcast Center was built in 1965. The FamilyNet TV and radio network is owned and operated by the North American Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention. These photos are from 2006. In 2011, the building was vacant and renovation was taking place.

former Baptist Annuity Center
Dallas, TX
The former Baptist Annuity Center was built in 1957. When the Baptist Annuity Center left the building, it was renamed "511 N. Akard" (its address). It has been vacant for many years. In 1999, conversion to condos fell through. There are now plans to convert the building into low-income housing. For more, see these websites: 1, 2, 3, and 4.

former Great National Life Insurance Company

The former Great National Life Insurance Company building was built in 1963. It is now used as offices for the Salvation Army. The building features an aluminum brise-soleil.

Bachman Head Start

The Bachman Head Start building appears to be from the 1960s. I don't know if Bachman was the original tenant.

Dallas, TX

The Christian Education Building was initially built as housing for the Criswell Bible Institute between 1972-1973.

The Bullington-Akard Skywalk connects several downtown buildings as part of the Dallas Pedestrian Network. I think it was build too recently to be mid-century but I'll include it anyway. For more, see these websites: 1 and 2.

Republic National Bank Building
Dallas, TX
The Republic National Bank Building, now the Republic Center, was built in 1954. At the time, it was the tallest building west of the Mississippi River. It was designed by Harrison and Abramovitz. The building features aluminum panels and a 150 foot tall projecting rooftop beacon. The beacon once revolved and pulsated with neon. For more, see these websites: 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5.
