Hartwig's Gobbler Supper Club was designed by Helmut Ajango and built from 1966-1967. The building had a circular floor plan with a rotating bar at its center. Turkey was a big part of the restaurant's menu. When viewed from above, the building itself is shaped like a turkey. The building also features turkey eye-shaped windows and railings. Originally, it had a pink and purple interior. The adjacent motel, now demolished, was also round with an interior featuring shag carpeting, mirrors, lava stone, water beds, and hot tubs.
Hartwig died in 1979 and the place began to decline. The restaurant changed owners and names and eventually a major fire closed the place for many years. In 2002, it reopened as the "Round Stone Restaurant" but closed that same year and has been vacant since. For more, see these websites: 1, 2, 3, and 4. |

| The Wisconsin Pavilion was built for the 1964 New York World's Fair. When the Fair was over, a man from Boscobel, WI bought it and hauled it home with hopes of reconstructing it there. In 1997, he sold the building's metal components to Central Wisconsin Broadcasting and it was rebuilt. It is now used for the radio station WCCN and Pavilion Cheese and Gifts. The rooftop tower is 50' tall. For more, see these websites: 1, 2, 3, and 4. |
