"Hobo"
Ocean City, NJ |

Hobo was the mascot of the Ocean City Historical Museum. He wandered freely on the beach and streets of town. A memorial statue with trickling fountain was created after his death in 1936. It has moved several times and was damaged by vandals in 1999. It was repaired in 2000 and is now safely hidden behind some pampas grass in front of the museum. For more, see this website.
