South Shore Buick, originally known as Noyes Buick, was designed in 1940 by George Ernest Robinson. Robinson designed many firehouses in Quincy, MA. This building was done in a Colonial Revival style to blend in with the rest of the neighborhood. For more, see this website.

Sweeney Ford

Sweeney Ford has occupied this building since 1954. This showroom has been here since at least the 1940s and features a terra cotta history of transportation. The detailed, exterior relief carvings of trains, planes and cars look to me to be late 1920s or 1930s. For more, see their website.

Ira Dodge

Ira Dodge was founded in the 1970s in Lowell, MA. Their showroom is in another part of town. This building functioned as their body shop and, from the weeds and condition, it appears to have been vacant for awhile. I believe it was acquired from a former Dodge dealer ("Fourteen Hundred Dodge Motors" was previously at this adddress).

Cadillac Village

The Cadillac Village circular showroom looks to be from the mid-1960s. I suppose it could have originally been a Dodge showroom like those described above, but the building looks too squat and the cool, space-age projections look unique to me. This stretch of Route 1 is lined with various car dealerships but this is the only oldie left. This dealership is also now selling Hummers. For more, see their website.
