NEBRASKA

Gottberg Auto Company
Columbus, NE

The Gottberg Auto Company building was constructed in 1920 and it served as a Ford dealer (cars and farm equipment) until 1937. It features great terra cotta details of winged wheels and automobiles at the roofline. The building housed a roller skating rink on the second floor in the late 1940s. In the mid-1950, the second floor was occupied by Dale Electronics who then took over the whole building from around 1959 until 1975. They moved out in 1975 and the building sat vacant until 1991 when it was nearly demolished. In 1993, the building was restored and, in 1995, it became home to the Gottberg Brew Pub and Dusters Restaurant. For more, see their website.
