former Packard showroom (aka The Packard Building) Providence, RI |
 |
This Packard showroom is another Albert Kahn design, built in 1912. This building, faced with glazed terra cotta, deteriorated over the years and was eventually condemned. At this point, it was serving as a "dirty bookstore." Luckily, it was saved and renovated in 1999. The first new tenant was the upscale Empire Restaurant. In 2004, it reopened as the Kestral Bistro. However, I believe they are gone now. Does anyone know what business occupies the building now?
