The Varsity Ridge Bowling Centre features a giant bowling pin on its roof. The Ridge offers Canadian five-pin bowling which uses shorter pins and smaller balls than traditional ten-pin bowling. In five-pin, the pins are encircled with rubber. For more, see these websites: 1 and 2.

| Save-on-Meats opened in 1957. The pigs on the sign used to rotate while the vertical text part of the sign rotated in the opposite direction. The neon under the canopy flashed in a pattern leading the eye towards the store. Save-on-Meats closed at the end of 2008 and it's not clear what will happen with these signs. For more, see these websites: 1, 2, and 3. |

The Restaurant Le Vendôme opened around 1953. This horse and carriage sign has been there since then. The neon is lit at night. For more, see this website. The Restaurant Wok N Roll opened in 1957. The Miss Villeray sign has been here since at least 1960. At the end of 2008, new owners restored the sign. Among other things, the bubbles are now gone from the champagne glass and wine has been added to it. The waitress' shorts have been replaced with a long dress. Swirly lines were added to the green (now blue) part of the sign. The red Sputnik-style ball has been removed. The sign is lit at night. For more, see these websites: 1, 2, and 3. The Oxford Snack Bar has an old plastic Canada Dry sign. I have not seen any signs like this one still on display in Canada or in the States. |
