The Lorelei Restaurant features the world's largest mermaid. The plywood sign is 20' long. It was peeling badly for a long time but looks great now.
The Blue Fin Inn and the Key Lantern Motel seem to be one and the same (they have the same owners). Their neon sign is believed to be from the early 1950s when the Inn was built. The sign was revitalized in 1997, adding more neon. The original owner, Finley Wilson, had a boat named the Blue Fin as well. For more, see this website. Two other interesting old signs nearby: the Sunset Inn (ca. 1940s) and the Islander Resort (from 1951). |

The Sea Jay Motel and the Thunderbird Beach Resort Hotel are mid-century survivors with great neon signage. For more, see these websites: 1, 2, and 3.
The Fu Manchu Restaurant opened in 1935. The restaurant closed in 2006 and the rooftop sign was put up for sale. I believe the pagoda roof, and hopefully the incredible interior, stayed as Young's Chinese restaurant took over the building. Can anyone confirm this? For more, see these websites: 1 and 2. |

Walgreens occupies a former Firestone tire store from 1929. Five letters from the original Firestone sign were saved and incorporated into this new sign. The sign is 84' long and 36' tall. For more, see this website.
Robert's has another great old rooftop sign. |

| The Rayco Auto Interiors and the Liggett-Rexall stores make full use of their façades for signage. Rayco has been around since the 1950s. Liggett-Rexall was a nationwide chain of drug stores combing the companies of Louis Liggett and Rexall. For more, see this website. |

The Orange Bowl Lanes sign is in great shape. There is also a ball and pin sign on the roof.
The Paradise Inn sign was ravaged by the latest hurricane in 2004. For another photo, see this website. The Arrow Motel appears to have semi-functioning neon at this point. For another photo, see this website. |

City of Cars has been closed for awhile and its enormous lot is for sale. I hope these two great signs will be saved. The satellite sign is similar to the one at Jerry Dutler's Bowl in Mankato, MN. I suspect that this one may have revolved in some way at one time.
McNamara Pontiac Isuzu has been here since 1961. For more, see their website. Western Way Shopping Center is a nicely-preserved oldie. |

Stewart Jewelry is part of a nicely-maintained strip in the College Park section of town.
Hot Dog Heaven opened in 1987. They offer 20 varieties of hot dogs. For more, see this website. Maryland Fried Chicken has three locations in the Orlando area and there are others in FL, GA, SC and maybe other states. I found it humorous to think there was anything unique about Maryland Fried Chicken but, after looking at this website, maybe there's something to it. For more, see these locations in Bristol, VA, Albany, GA, Plant City, FL, Florence, SC, and Westminster, SC. Tropical Blossom Honey has been here since 1940. For more, see their website. |

The Hawaii Motel is a survivor on the outskirts of town. For more, see this website.
This is the nicest Elks Lodge sign I have seen. I wonder if there were others. The Phoenix Lanes has been here since 1958. For more, see their website. |
