There are two other White Star Cleaners locations. The one in Labadieville, LA has a similar sign but I don't think the one in Thibodaux, LA does.
The Southside Motor Exchange sign features this nice engine graphic at the top. The huge rooftop Lamp Lighter Lounge sign survived Hurricane Katrina. For more, see this website. The giant Dorignac's Food Center sign is another survivor. The store opened originally in 1946 on Jackson Avenue and moved here in 1963. For more, see these websites: 1 and 2. |

Gambino's Bakery opened in 1949. For more, see their website.
I believe the London Lodge Motel was already closed before Hurricane Katrina in 2005. For more, see these websites: 1 and 2. The huge Crystal Preserves sign is visible from I-10. It was partially damaged by Katrina. This billboard style sign was built around 1942. Steam once rose from the stirred pot. Baumer Foods still makes Crystal hot sauces and mustards but, after Katrina, they moved to La Place, LA. Baumer doesn't have the money to bring the sign with them and it will most likely be demolished. Their New Orleans building was demolished in 2007 but I don't know if the sign was destroyed, moved, or left in place. Does anyone know? For more, see these websites: 1 and 2. |

Mid-City Lanes Rock 'N Bowl opened in 1941 and added rock, zydeo and R&B bands in 1988. Despite the flooding of Hurricane Katrina, the place survived and has reopened. For more, see these websites: 1, 2, and 3.
The Sanlin Building's partially damaged 1950s aluminum façade conceals an 1840s Greek Revival building. For more, see this website. Fischer's Jewelry opened in 1962. |

| Walgreens opened this store on Canal St. in 1938. It was their fifth store in LA, with about 500 others in the U.S. at the time. For more, see these websites: 1 and 2. |

| Lenny's Piccadilly Lounge and the Half Shell Restaurant are now closed. I believe the Lenny's sign was damaged during Hurricane Katrina. For more, see these websites: 1 and 2. |

Peter's Grocery & Liquor features a nice old bottle shaped sign.
Around the Clock Bail Bonds has a cute vacuum formed plastic sign. Lucky Liquor has a Sputnik style ball mounted on a pole above their roof. This sign looks identical to the one used at Skid's Drive-in. For more, see this website. |

The Southgate Bowling Lanes looks like it's been closed for awhile.
Rountree has been around since 1940 and they have three locations in Shreveport. I suspect the letter blocks on this giant sign rotated at one time. There's not much left of the Happy Trails Lounge sign. For more, see this website. |
