Williams Wholesale & Supply, an electrical supply and lighting center, features a light bulb pole sign.
Maddox Furniture opened in 1940 and closed in 2005. The sign was still there in 2008. The Cookeville Masonic Lodge features a milk glass globe sign which were used at other lodges such as this one in Oregon, IL. I had heart that the Spring St. Super Market was closed and would be converted into office space. However, as of 2008, they are still there and open. For more, see these websites: 1 and 2. The Bob Johnson Auto Sales sign must have had neon originally. The sign probably advertised for another business and was repainted at some point. This sign advertised for Bonanza Homes, a local chain of mobile home dealers. This sign is from 1969 and originally revolved. Bonanza Homes went out of business around 1980. The chain was initially part of an Atlanta-based nationwide franchise operation which used these signs at other locations with various names. There was another sign, now gone, in Bowling Green, KY at an Upside Down Charlie location. Other surviving signs include these in Sulphur Springs, TX, San Bernardino, CA, Decatur, GA, Muscle Shoals, AL, and Ontario, CA. If you know of any others, I'd love to hear about them. For more, see this website. |

The Hour-O-Matic Cleaners was probably not the original name of this dry cleaners. I believe there was a nationwide chain that used these signs but I don't know the name. I have a couple other examples in Indiana.
There are several One Hour Martinizing stores in town. This one features an old sign and a mid-century building. The sign was probably all neon at one time and updated with plastic boxes. For other examples of Martinizing buildings, see this page. |

| The Cream City Ice Cream sign is from the 1950s. In the late 1950s, Mayfield Dairies purchased the milk production building but did not remove the sign from the roof. The animated sign is still lit on Friday and Saturday nights. For more, see these websites: 1 and 2. |
