The Winnebago Gift Shop and another gift shop across the street (sorry, didn't get the name of this one) are two old holdouts downtown.

Paul Bunyan's Northwoods Cook Shanty features these two locations, both with great signage. The Dells location opened in 1958 and the Minocqua opened in 1961. The Dells location also features a Paul Bunyan statue. For more, see their website.

The Evergreen Motel and the Holiday Motel are two other oldies with nice signs.

Market Square Cheese opened here in 1969. It is a full-scale food and gift shop, specializing in cheese and sausage. This store also features a Giant Mouse at their entrance. For more, see their website.

Humbird Cheese is Market Square Cheese's sister store, with an identical sign. Humbird Cheese has been around since the 1930s. Their sign appears to be new or very recently restored. For more, see their website.

Mautz Paint, founded in 1922, now has about 30 locations. The paint manufacturer, based in Madison, was bought out in 2001 by Sherwin-Williams as a result of a lead paint lawsuit. However, it seems that their retail stores still retain the name. This sign is on the side of building downtown which seems to be either their previous office or manufacturing space. The Octopus Car Wash chain was founded in the late 1950s. I believe their original location was this one in Rockford, IL. Today, there are about 20 locations in AZ, CO, IL, FL, NM and WI. Their octopus mascot is nicknamed "Ozzie". For more, see these websites: 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5.

Otto's Beverage Center features this simple but fun neon sign.

Valenti Classics features this rooftop Corvette outlined with neon. The car was installed in the 1980s and the neon added in 1995. For more, see their website.
