Central Terminal (closed)
Buffalo, NY

Buffalo's Central Terminal was called the "Station Too Late and Too Far" because it opened just before the Great Depression (in 1929) it was located too far from the city's business district. Central Terminal was designed by the same men that later created Cincinnati’s Union Terminal. Passenger service at Central Terminal ended in 1979 and the buildings have sat abandoned ever since. In the late 1990s, a preservation group (Buffalo Central Terminal Restoration Corp.) bought the building and restoration has begun.
