Union Station

Union Station opened in 1929. It was designed by Fellheimer & Wagner who also designed the Buffalo Central and Cincinnati Union terminals. It officially closed as a train station in 1970 when Amtrak moved their operations elsewhere in South Bend. The station is now used by Global Access Point, an off-site computer data center. Central Terminal

Buffalo's Central Terminal was called the "Station Too Late and Too Far" because it opened in 1929 just before the Great Depression and it was located far from downtown. This station was designed by Fellheimer & Wagner, the same architects responsible for Cincinnati's Union Terminal. Passenger service at Central Terminal ended in 1979 and the buildings have been abandoned since then. Restoration of the buildings has been ongoing since the late 1990s. former New York Central Railroad

The New York Central Railroad was built in 1936 and was later used as a Greyhound bus station. Greyhound left the building in 1988 and it remained vacant after that. In 2002, the station was restored and converted into office and studio space for Time Warner. Nothing remains of the original interior.

former Union Depot

The Tulsa Union Depot was designed by R. C. Stephens and built from 1929-1931. It closed in 1967 and remained vacant until 1983. The building was restored and now houses the Oklahoma Jazz Hall of Fame and the Tulsa Symphony Orchestra. For more, see these websites: 1 and 2.

Santa Fe Depot
