Sawyers Harrisburg, PA |
 |
 |
Sawyers is a 1962 DeRaffele. The diner, originally located in Allentown, PA (top two rows of photos), closed in 2002 and was scheduled to move to Milwaukee, WI in 2003. However, the deal fell through and plans for Cleveland, and Philadelphia never worked out either. The diner sat for two years in a storage lot with the incredible neon sign on the ground near the street. In 2006, the diner was moved to Harrisburg (third row of photos) where it reopened as a restaurant and club known as the Tom Sawyer Diner Entertainment Complex. In 2006, I was told that the neon sign was being restored and would be installed in the patio area. However, as of 2009, the sign is still missing. By 2009, bottom row of photos, the diner was known as Sawyers. It is more of a club now than restaurant. The Tom Sawyer artwork is painted on the stage where bands perform. For more, see this website.
