Edmund B. Gustorf Boat House

The Edmund B. Gustorf Boat House was built in 1924 (other sources say 1922 and 1926). Gustorf was a traveling salesman who dreamed of sailing the high seas. The boat is 72' long and has one bedroom. There is also a 30' tall lighthouse. For more, see this website.

These Boat Houses were built from wood and cement by Miles Minor Kellogg in the late 1920s. He used salvaged wood from two buildings that were demolished in 1928. The S.S. Encinitas and S.S Moonlight are now used as apartments. For more, see these websites: 1 and 2.
