The ABC Buffet has a reworked sign and was probably named something else originally. The Uptown Drug mortar and pestle shaped sign lurks in the background.
The Hill Top Motel has been here since at least the 1950s. Their sign with cheese holes looks like it has been recently restored. For more, see these websites: 1, 2, and 3. [night photo thanks Glenda Campbell] Lo's Chinese American Food has a nicely-preserved neon sign. I believe the Arcadia Lodge has been here since the 1930s when it was known as the Arcadia Court. The Hacienda Motel and Tropicana Motel signs are also lit at night. For more, see these websits: 1 and 2. Melody Cleaners features a colorful and intact sign and storefront. It appears that the top part of the sign revolved. They weren't open when I was there so I don't know if it still does. |
