CALIFORNIA: LOS ANGELES

I just completed a big roadtrip to CA and will soon have lots more signs for these pages.

janitorial store
Los Angeles, CA
B&B Produce
Los Angeles, CA
House of a Thousand Fabrics
Los Angeles, CA

I believe this janitorial store has been replaced with Vee Enterprises, a wholesale pet supply business. The janitor sign still remains as of 2008.

B&B Produce is a meat and produce store.

The House of a Thousand Fabrics is a rare, surviving old business on the Miracle Mile.

Leonardo's Night Club
Los Angeles, CA
Dan-Dee Shoe Repair
Los Angeles, CA
Leader
Los Angeles, CA

The Leonardo's Night Club sign is still lit at night. For more, see these websites: 1 and 2.

Dan-Dee Shoe Repair has been here since at least 1957. Their sign was recently restored.

I don't know what business this Leader sign is associated with. It is lit at night. For more, see this website.

El Coyote Mexican Cafe
Los Angeles, CA
Charlie's Kosher Delicatessen
Los Angeles, CA

The El Coyote Mexican Cafe was founded in 1931. The restaurant moved to this location in 1951. For more, see these websites: 1 and 2.

Charlie's Kosher Delicatessen features two old signs. Although the paint is pretty faded, it looks like the neon might still be functional.

Supply Sergeant
Los Angeles, CA
Hotel Rosslyn
Los Angeles, CA

The Supply Sergeant is a military supply store. For more, see these websites: 1 and 2.

The Hotel Rosslyn was built in 1913. In 2007, the building was coverted to loft space. There are two huge Rosslyn rooftop signs across the street from each other. They were temporarily lit for a filming in 2007. For more, see these websites: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7.

Cole's P.E. Buffet
Los Angeles, CA

Cole's P.E. Buffet opened in 1908 in the Pacific Electric Building. The building served as the terminal for the Pacific Electric Railway and Cole's was a popular restaurant with commuters. When Cole's closed in 2007, the interior still had the original mahogany bar and oak tables. The restaurant is now being renovated. For more, see these websites: 1, 2, 3, and 3.
