Pagoda Chop Suey House
Hamilton, ON
Dutchman's Gold
Carlisle, ON

The Pagoda Chop Suey House with the black sign has been downtown since the 1940s. I assume this other location with the red sign was built later. Both restaurants are still in operation. For more, see this website.

Dutchman's Gold has been selling honey and maple products since 1981. Their sign includes a giant bee hive. For more, see their website.

Capri Restaurant & Tavern
Niagara Falls, ON

The Capri Restaurant & Tavern looks to be from the 1950s. It has one of the few remaining neon signs in the Falls.

Cadillac Motel
Niagara Falls, ON

The Cadillac Motel also appears to be from the 1950s. Unfortunately, I was there during the off-season when the neon sign was not turned on. For more, see this website.

MacIntosh Dry Cleaners
Kitchener, ON

MacIntosh Dry Cleaners has been here since 1934. The storefont's vitrolite tiles are an example of storefront as sign. There were also probably neon signs where the plastic ones are now.

El Mocambo Tavern

Canary Restaurant [closed]
Toronto, ON

The El Mocambo Tavern has been offering live entertainment since it was established in 1946. For more, see these websites: 1, 2, and 3.

The Canary Restaurant moved here in 1965 from another spot in town. I assume the signage came with them as it appears to be 1940s/1950s. The restaurant closed in 2007. For more, see these websites: 1 and 2.

Paul's Jewellery
Toronto, ON
Honest Ed's
Toronto, ON

The Paul's Jewellery sign features a combination of neon and plastic elements. I believe only the "Paul's" portion is lit now.

Honest Ed's opened this block-long bargain store in 1948. The sign is composed of 23,000 light bulbs. The interior signage is all hand-painted. For more, see these websites: 1, 2, 3, and 4.

More Canadian Signs:
Sam the Record Man: 1, 2 (Toronto)
