The Cadet Motor Inn opened in 1967 as a ten-unit motel. There are now 32 rooms. The sign was restored in 1997 and, as of 2005, is about to be repainted again. For more, see these websites: 1 and 2.

Miller's Shoes has a classic metal and neon shoe sign.
Rapid Shoe Fix features a great metal sign. The figures resemble Palmer Cox's Brownies. The Great Lakes Skate Center burned down in early 2007 and this sign probably won't be around much longer. | Ritzee Hamburgers was part of a chain with several locations in Battle Creek. I'm not sure how widespread the chain was but there was also a Ritzee Hamburgs in Grand Rapids, MI.
