former Union Terminal
Cincinnati, OH

The former Union Terminal, built in 1933, brought together seven railroad companies. The terminal closed in 1972 and in 1980 it was briefly used as a shopping center. The Art Deco masterpiece reopened in 1990 as the Museum Center which is a complex featuring the Museum of Natural History, the Historical Society Museum and Library, the Children's Museum and the OMNIMAX Theater. former Southern Pacific Railroad Passenger Station [gone]
Casa Grande, AZ

This former Southern Pacific Railroad Passenger Station was built in 1939 in the Pueblo Deco style. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places but was vacant for many years. These photos are from 2004. The building was badly damaged in a fire and then torn down around 2009.

Union Pacific station
Nyssa, OR

This Union Pacific station looks like it was built in the 1940s. It is no longer in use as a station.

Pennsylvania Railroad Suburban Station
Philadelphia, PA

The Pennsylvania Railroad Suburban Station, a commuter rail station, was built in 1929. For more, see this website.

Chesapeake & Ohio Railroad station
Prince, WV

This Chesapeake & Ohio Railroad station was built in 1946. It is now used as an Amtrak station. The interior features a terrazzo floor with "Chessie", the sleeping kitten mascot of the C&O Railroad. For more, see this website.
