Wild Turkey
Bottle
Covington, KY

The Boondocks Lounge Bottle is 35' tall and was built around 1973 for Peasant Villa, an Italian restaurant and former occupant of the building. It is made of concrete and rebar and weighs several tons. The artist that created it, Michael Kautza, is also responsible for Tucson's Tack Room Boot, Matador & Bull, and the Cow Skull in Amado, AZ. The Boondocks Bottle was restored in 2004 (two photos on left circa 2001, photos on right from 2008). For more, see this website.

This Wine Bottle is a mystery. The postcard dates from the 1920s and it could be German but is more likely from Queens, NY. It appears to be from a fair or trade show.

The Wild Turkey Bottle is on top of the sign at the Stadium Liquor Store. It has been there since at least 2006.

More Wine Bottles:
Kelowna, BC (Canada)

Bourbon Bottle
Brown-Forman Warehouse
Louisville, KY
Mizkan Americas Bottle
Louisville, KY

This Old Forester Bourbon Bottle stands on the roof of the Brown-Forman Warehouse. The warehouse was built in 1936 and I believe this rooftop bottle was created at the same time. The bottle serves as a water tower. It was repainted in 1998 and 2003 to reflect labeling changes to the product. For more, see these websites: 1, 2, and 3.

This Mizkan Americas Bottle advertised for the Florida Distillers Company in 2007. Does anyone know what company used this bottle originally? Mizkan produces vinegars, cooking wine and liquid condiments at this plant now. For more, see this website.

The Bruceton Coca-Cola Bottle was built in 1949 for the Indianapolis, IN bottling plant. It has been in private hands since at least the mid-1980s. [photo thanks Mark Comstock]

The Fort Walton Beach Coca-Cola Bottle is located behind the Buccaneer Gift Shop. This 15 foot tall fiberglass bottle was restored for the shop's 35th anniversary in 2007.

Coke Bottle & Building
Frederick, MD
The Frederick Coke bottle was on the roof of this former bottling plant. It is a replica of a circa 1920 bottle. The building is from 1941 (another source says 1947). The bottle was refurbished in 1998. In 2008, Coca-Cola left this building which is now vacant. The Coke bottle is now in storage in Hagerstown, MD. The Coca-Cola plant there wants to install it on their roof. For more, see this website.

Coke Bottle
Jackson, MS
Coke Bottle & Building [gone]
Richmond, VA

This Jackson Coke Bottle stands next to the Coca-Cola bottling plant.

This Richmond Coca-Cola bottling plant appears to be from the 1950s or 1960s. Unfortunately, just a couple months after these photos were taken in 2007, the plant closed and the bottle is now gone.

Coke Bottle & Building
Washington, NC

This Washington Coca-Cola bottling plant is still in operation. For more, see this website.

The World of Coca-Cola
Atlanta, GA

The World of Coca-Cola features thousands of Coke artifacts. The beverage was invented in 1886 in Atlanta. Outside the museum is a kiosk with giant Coke bottles at its corners. Inside, is this giant carved wooden bottle from Bolivia. For more, see these websites: 1, 2, and 3.

Also in Atlanta is Turner Field with this 38' tall Coke bottle covered with baseball artifacts. Fireworks shoot out of it when the Braves hit a home run.

Coca-Cola Bottle
Las Vegas, NV

This 100' tall Coca-Cola Bottle stands at the entrance and contains two glass elevators for the "Everything Coca-Cola" store. It has taken over the space of "World of Coca-Cola Las Vegas" which opened in 1997 and closed in 2000. For more, see these websites: 1, 2, 3, and 4.

Mellow Mushroom
Chattanooga, TN

Mellow Mushroom was founded in 1974 and now has nearly 50 pizza restaurants in the South. This location occupies a former Coca-Cola bottling plant. The canopies over the outside seating resemble giant Coke bottle caps. For more, see their website.

For more Coca-Cola plants & bottles, see this section.

More Coke Bottles:
MGM Studios: 1, 2 (Orlando, FL)
Elizabethtown, KY
Shanghai, China

There were two giant Coke bottles (no photo) in Boston at a bottling plant on the Charles River. They were erected in 1953 and had script lettering, red neon and flashing lights which reflected on the water. They were torn down for the construction of a high-rise hotel in 1984. Today, there are giant Coke bottles in Boston at Fenway Park (1 and 2).

Giant Coke Bottle
Sapulpa, OK
Vess Bottle
St. Louis, MO

This Giant Coke Bottle is a reference to the fact that Sapulpa is a major glass manufacturing center. Sapulpa is also the home to Frankoma pottery, depicted by the plate at the center of this sculpture group.

The Vess Bottle is a 12' tall replica of the family-sized lemon-lime soda bottle. It was built in 1952 and mounted on a 12' pole. The "billion bubble beverage" bottle stood neglected until it was removed in the 1980s. In 1989, it was discovered in storage and restored. The bottle was reinstalled downtown in 1991 and declared a landmark. It has 600 lineal feet of red and green neon tubing. It was once the world's largest revolving neon sign but current laws prohibit it from spinning. There were at least two other Vess bottles in St. Louis but it seems that this is the only one left. As of 2005, the two photos at the right, the bottle could use another restoration. The paint is faded and the neon is broken. For more, see these websites: 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5.

Soda Bottle [removed]
Irvington, NJ

The Irvington Soda Bottle was 60' tall and stood atop an abandoned bottling plant. It was built in 1930 as a 55-gallon water tower for Hoffman Beverages. The bottle was painted with a label for Hoffman Pale Dry Ginger Ale. The property was taken over in 1945 by Pabst Brewing Company who repainted the bottle with a beer label. The building then remained vacant from 1985-2006 when it was demolished. In 2006, the bottle was cut into five pieces (for transportation purposes) and carefully removed. It is now in storage and will be reassembled at some point. The owner plans to put it up somewhere in Newark or Seaside, NJ. For more, see these websites: 1 and 2. [bottom photos thanks Nick DeBenedetto]

Moxie Bottle
Union, ME

The Moxie Bottle is 32' tall and made of oak, spruce and pine. It was built around 1900 as an advertising gimmick and "free sample" Moxie beverage stand. The bottle was displayed in Boston, Coney Island, and a few other locations. It was then put on permanent display at the Pine Island Amusement Park near Manchester, NH. In 1919, after the company had abandoned the structure, it was moved about a mile away where it became part of a house. By the 1980s, the bottle had fallen into disrepair. In 1999, it was sold, dissassembled and put in storage in Maine. In 2009, after many years of networking and fundraising, the bottle has been installed at the Matthews Museum in a building designed specifically for it. There are many relevant historic items on display and Moxie souvenirs as well. For more, see these websites: 1, 2, 3, and 4.

Liquid Life
Tulsa, OK

The Liquid Life bottle stands in front of the Rockland Corporation (aka TRC). The company produces liquid vitamins and minerals. Liquid Life is their private label. They have been around since 1974 and I would guess the bottle is from then as well. For more, see these websites: 1 and 2.
